Caught by surprise this morning when I read that the European Parliament has adopted two resolutions that affirm that neither Taiwan nor the People’s Republic of China (PRC) are subordinate to the other and that only Taiwan’s democratically elected government can represent the Taiwanese people in international politics. It is calling for U.S. to Recognize Taiwan and that is being reported as a good thing. Maybe would have been when Trump was president and the military wasn't weakened and woke, but now it's a call for a China reaction.

6 or 7 years ago I had a problem with my computer. My son was over, and on his suggestion did a quick 'help' search. Got some guy that wanted access to the computer to rid it of the supposed malware. A few minutes into it I turned to my son who was talking with him on my phone and said hang up, I'm turning the pc off. He was just a little too slick and the Indian accents made him hard to understand. Had it just been me in a panic mode . . .. - well who knows, our computers are our window to the world.
I’m sorry also DD. It’s sometimes just a thoughtless click that sets you on the wrong road, I’ve done it also. Recently someone tried to take two 20,000 dollar loans out in my name. I got notified and was able to stop it. I signed up with the credit bureau’s to be notified if anyone tries to open a line of credit in my name. The shitty thing is the people in my case can be found but no one does a thing about it, so this stuff will never end. During the pandemic 3 people were trying to collect unemployment from my business. Names, addresses and SS numbers all right there and the state would do nothing. I found that out from the state sending me a letter saying they were reviewing my unemployment claim. The problem was I wasn’t trying to collect unemployment, unreal!!!!
I’ve had my bouts with Mass. unemployment. People quit, walk off the job, get an under the table job for a year, then collect after 12 months on my unemployment. I told the lady at unemployment to send him back to work with me and she said oh we can’t do that you were his last legitimate employer so he’s collecting on your insurance, driving my costs up…you can’t make this stuff up. There totally against the employer.

I have liked some of your Presidents and disliked others, but the current situation is what leads me to Heart Break and Silence. To see your once Beautiful and Globally respected (and Loved) USA reduced (purposefully in my opinion) to what you explain (AND WHAT IT HAS BECOME) is truly heartbreaking. I've read stories about PHDs getting taken for far more. My grandmother was taken for 70 grand by a close "friend" and she was as smart as a whip. These flim-flam-man predators will be paying far more than they've gained when the bill come due in the afterlife.

6 or 7 years ago I had a problem with my computer. My son was over, and on his suggestion did a quick 'help' search. Got some guy that wanted access to the computer to rid it of the supposed malware. A few minutes into it I turned to my son who was talking with him on my phone and said hang up, I'm turning the pc off. He was just a little too slick and the Indian accents made him hard to understand. Had it just been me in a panic mode . . .. - well who knows, our computers are our window to the world.
I’m sorry also DD. It’s sometimes just a thoughtless click that sets you on the wrong road, I’ve done it also. Recently someone tried to take two 20,000 dollar loans out in my name. I got notified and was able to stop it. I signed up with the credit bureau’s to be notified if anyone tries to open a line of credit in my name. The shitty thing is the people in my case can be found but no one does a thing about it, so this stuff will never end. During the pandemic 3 people were trying to collect unemployment from my business. Names, addresses and SS numbers all right there and the state would do nothing. I found that out from the state sending me a letter saying they were reviewing my unemployment claim. The problem was I wasn’t trying to collect unemployment, unreal!!!!
Government, mostly incompetent.
I’ve had my bouts with Mass. unemployment. People quit, walk off the job, get an under the table job for a year, then collect after 12 months on my unemployment. I told the lady at unemployment to send him back to work with me and she said oh we can’t do that you were his last legitimate employer so he’s collecting on your insurance, driving my costs up…you can’t make this stuff up. There totally against the employer.

That sounds like something that happened to me a couple times a while back. Machine locked up tight on this weird virus repair page. A hard boot straightened it out. I'm just a shade tree computerist, but you might want to remember that.
